Is it true?

I recently took a little quiz. This is what it said about it...
You are a passionate person. You appreciate beauty and craftsmanship. You are patient and will keep trying to understand something until you've mastered it. You are a good listener and your friends are glad to have you around in difficult times.
Sound like me?

Keepin' On...

Ah, another day spent at Panera drinking coffee (not sure if the unlimited refills are a good thing or a bad thing)and working on my thesis. It is coming along, thanks to all of you who are always asking. Some days feel more successful than others. While it is easy to get frustrated and feel completely overwhelmed, there are times that make it all ok.
Today for instance, I had one of those experiences. Panera seems to be the place to bring children. There are millions of them here every time I am. A group of women (I learned one was the mom, one the aunt, and one the grandmother) were sitting behind me with an ADORABLE baby. She was playing peek a boo and giving me huge smiles. It was a welcomed distraction. They inquired as to my work. I am sitting her (still) with a huge stack of books and papers. I discussed my thesis topic and they began describing how lucky they all were to not have had PPD. The grandmother was the last to leave. She came over to me and explained that her daughter lost a friend to suicide because of her untreated postpartum depression. She then told me that the work I was doing was so important.
With all that we know, this should NOT be happening. EVER. This is what keeps me going.

I've been quoted!!!!!!!!

Ok, so in my first year of graduate school we had to respond to an article on an online international music therapy journal. I was just on the site to see if what I wrote was still there (it is), and found that someone had quoted me! For some reason, this is very exciting to me. Here it is:
Finally, in her response to Wheeler, Lesley University graduate student Michelle Sharpe states, "When it comes down to it I have realized that most of the powerlessness that I feel is brought on by me. While there are countless things out of my control, there are things I can change." (Sharpe, 2006)

Class Art

I have been in class for the last 2 weekends. It was a great class (voice and music therapy). I am not one to share my art, sometimes it doesn't even feel like art to me, but I liked these. All of these were done in the class. Ah, Lesley, I think that we keep the Cray-Pas people in business. Enjoy.

Tuesday with Lars

This is a very special week in that Lars and I get to spend every day together! Today after school we went to the Watertown Mall. There are so many great things there to feel. We walked in to find that the Christmas trees were still up. Lars hasn't been into feeling them with me before, but he must have changed his mind today. We spend almost 20 mins. with this tree! We also found some really cool belts. Once he started putting it in his mouth I took it away, especially when I saw the $130 price tag. We were NOT going to be taking that home. The hat that Lars is wearing entertained him for quite awile....once I got a few cute pictures andlet him hold it. =) The third picture is Lars with the new toy I got him last week. It's pretty cool. There are lots of different textures on it and it rattles. Here he is showing off his favorite part, the ribbed chew-toy section! What a great day we had!
