wo

Yesterday I had my first trip to a homeless shelter to assess a baby. Tiny baby living in this horrible place. It was quite the experience. I will be back there weekly if I end up taking the case, which I think that I will. Those are the situations that I am drawn to for some reason. It was just so humbling to see all of the families' belongings (everyone there has children) sitting in garbage bags in a hallway. I go back in another week to assess two more children there from a different family.

hair and eyes

Friday I finally got my hair cut. It is so much better and I'm glad I got around to it. Keep in mind this picture is after a long day of being in and out of the rain.
With my new job (today started week 4!) I have great insurance. Tonight I went to the eye doctor for the first time in 3 years. It was long overdue. My eyes, of course, have gotten worse and I got new lenses. So much better! I also learned that people with blue eyes (mine are quite blue even though this picture doesn't show it) are much more likely to get cataracts and macular degeneration. This I did not know.

Pride Parade

Pride was great fun. We went to the parade on Saturday. Check out K. and K. in their tutus. Everyone was stopping to take their pictures, even people marching in the parade. They were adorable. Click on the link to their blog to see pictures of them @ Pride.

Yes, this is what I actually had for dinner tonight. It's a classic that never goes out of style. However, given that I worked 9 hours and then babysat for 3 hours I make it differently. I have a container of celery, container of peanut butter, and a bag of raisins. One dip in the peanut butter and one dip in the raisin bag, and it's just as good. Yep, I'm lazy and SO TIRED!

new stuff

1. My desk at my new office. It is already much more full and cluttered now.
2.& 3. My AMAZING friend Julez made me this shirt to wear this weekend in the Pride parade.
This whole week in Boston is Pride week, celebrating all things gay, lesbian, etc. I am so excited for the parade. I will be attending with some friends and the weather is supposed to be great. My friends are awesome in accepting me for who I am, even though it took me 27 years to find that out. I can say that I am a lesbian, and that's ok. I am lucky that most of those close to me speak support and actually mean it.
