Monday with Lars

Lars and I had a good Monday together. We spent lots of time outside. The 1st picture is a good example of fall in New England. Photo 2 is Lars sporting his rainbow BabyLegs! Not sure what he was thinking about in the 3rd picture but he was having a great time being outside. We took a nice walk up to the market and found lots of pumpkins! Lars had a great time exploring this one, especially its stem.

and so it begins......

I have been in the process of tracking down anything and everything relating to postpartum depression. Today I went to my local library to pick up what they held for me. (see photo) If any of you come across ANYTHING related to postpartum depression I would love it if you would pass it along, or at least enough about it so I could find it. What I am really looking for is someone that would be willing to talk with me who has actually experienced this. Not just the typical baby blues, but was formally diagnosed with PPD.
Thanks in advance!

THIS REALLY BUGS ME!

You're= you are
Your= (a form of the possessive case of you used as an attributive adjective): Your jacket is in that closet. I like your idea.

There= doesn't describe people. ex. i want to go over THERE.
Their= possessive ex. I want to have their seats at the red sox game.

COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

Some Big News!

No, no, no. Not a baby, but my thesis topic has been born!
The needs of women suffering from post-partum depression and the possibility of addressing those needs through music therapy.

the hazzards of city life

I think they change the rules on parking daily. It sucks.

First Day!

Today I officially started my internship. I was nervous about the commute through Boston during rush hour, so I left my apartment wicked early. I ended up getting there 45 minutues early. It actually worked out fine to have some time to relax. My office, which I am rarely in, is accross the street from the ocean. Pretty nice. I took a walk and sat on the boardwalk around 7:30. The way the coast is, you can actually see the Boston skyline from there. I took some pictures, but am so exhausted I don't think I will put them on tonight. However, I did find some online. The first one is of my office. The second on is the boardwalk.
My day involved going to 4 home visits with 2 different music therapists. I think I'm going to really love it and fit in well.

Davis Farmland

Friday was a great day at Davis Farmland. We were only there for the last hour that they were open, but it turned out to be the perfect time. All of the animals were very vocal awaiting their dinner. To Lars, this was hilarious. The hayride was almost empty. For the first time I decided to take Lars in his chair on . It was so much better than trying to hold him and he loved it!

In Responce

I find it interesting that whoever is leaving anonymous comments feels the need to remain anonymous. I have no problem with Sarah Palin's beliefs. She can believe whatever she wants. My issue is that she supports limiting the freedoms of others. If I am in love with another woman, I should have the right to marry them and have the same legal rights as others. Why should I be discriminated against?
I have a problem with finding respect for Sarah Palin. While she and her running mate speak of the change that they will bring to this country-that totally needs it-but spoke not of these ideas. What she did was bash Obama. What are we, in 2nd grade?
And I have absolute respect for military personel and what they go through. I have no doubt that the torture he endured as a POW was horrible. However, how does that qualify you to be president?

No, No, No

I hope that if you are voting in the presidential election (WHICH YOU SHOULD) that you are learning all that you need to about the candidates. I am freaked out that someone like Sarah Palin could possibly become the vice president of this country. Where did she come from, 1912?
The following is a good example. And that's who you want helping to run the country? Not me.

She will be honored alongside anti-gay Representative Michelle Bachman (R-MN) at an event at the 2008 Republican Convention, the “Life of the Party,” sponsored in part by long-time opponent of GLBT rights, Phyllis Schlafly.

Just in case people are confused, this country is for everyone. It doesn't matter if you are black, white, purple, gay, lesbian, or anything else. Interesting how if she said that she hated Asians and tried to make laws against their freedom people would freak. Why is acting this way towards gays and lesbians okay?????
Please feel free to leave comments, I am interested in what people have to say.
p.s. oh, and she also makes decisions against the environment and is a member of the NRA...oh my

First Day

Today was my last first day of graduate school...if that makes sense. I had a few hours of orientation for my internship and then one class (issues and standards). Nice badge, huh?

awesome stuff

I was so sick of having dishes that never seemed clean after a washing. So, I took the advice of a friend and tried the Seventh Generation dish soap. This stuff is awesome! No strange film afterwards and it is an all natural product which is good for the planet. Most dish soap has crazy smells that I can't stand and this one has NO SMELL!!! YAY!!! I bought mine at Whole Foods, but I am sure that there are plenty of stores to find it at.
Seventh Generation is not paying me for saying this-unfortunately. It's just what I think.
