Yesterday I had my first trip to a homeless shelter to assess a baby. Tiny baby living in this horrible place. It was quite the experience. I will be back there weekly if I end up taking the case, which I think that I will. Those are the situations that I am drawn to for some reason. It was just so humbling to see all of the families' belongings (everyone there has children) sitting in garbage bags in a hallway. I go back in another week to assess two more children there from a different family.

Humbling is an understatement! I have gone to assist with feeding at the homeless shelter here in Phoenix. Needy - and yes, everyone should see what could happen - but from the assisting side hopefully.
